Campus Ministries

Attending university can be an important time in an individual’s spiritual journey. The Episcopal Church in Minnesota is committed to supporting students on their walk through higher education through both congregation-based community as well as specialized campus ministries.

Episcopal Campus Ministry, Duluth area

Episcopal Campus Ministry-Duluth area is the umbrella organization for a campus ministry initiative started by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Duluth. The purpose is to offer a community for seeking spirituality, making friends, and making a difference. This “parish based” campus ministry started in the 2010-11 school year. The parish provides hospitality, meeting space and staffing (a chaplain). Students are invited to attend worship at St. Paul’s on Wednesdays and Sundays. The parish has a special emphasis on hospitality for international students. The current chaplain is the Rev. Sally Maxwell at sallymax2002@yahoo.com, 218-349-9917. The very active student organization is Students Seeking Spirituality at UMD. Meeting times and events are posted on Facebook. Student leaders offer venues by which students can explore spirituality. There is also a young adult group of spiritual seekers that is getting organized. Contact the chaplain about this.
