This year at ECMN Convention, we'll be starting our time on Friday with worship at 6:30pm, being led through dinner church by one of ECMN's newest faith communities, Table 229 (click here for a sneak peak of what this will look like). A light dinner of soup and salad will be served. After our program on Friday, stick around for a reception in the Banquet Hall where you can connect with each other, and visit organizations in the resource fair.
Saturday morning you will register again, starting at 7am. When you enter the Grand Hall, you'll find registration tables where you can pick up folders that have everything you need for Saturday, including ballots for delegates. Saturday morning we will have morning worship starting at 8:30am, and move into the management portion of Convention, including elections, review of the financial statement of mission and proposed resolutions, canonical and constitutional changes.
We'll spend Saturday afternoon in our Mission focus with a speaker and workshops (you can find out more about workshops here). After workshops we'll come back together in the Grand Hall for a sending. Convention will conclude at 3:30pm.
Convention Business Booklet
Convention business consists of voting for individuals to elected bodies, voting on resolutions and proposed constitutional and canonical amendments, and passing the yearly financial statement of mission (which acts as a budget for ECMN). All these items will be collated in what’s called a ‘Business Booklet’, which you can find below.
This year's booklet is extra long, so we encourage you to use a computer or the Convention App to review the business booklet on a device rather than printing it out.
If you are new to Roberts Rules, or want to brush up on some the finer points of parliamentary procedure used on Saturday during convention, click here to get some pointers!
The Convention Booklet features all the information you need to be prepared for ECMN Convention. It includes introductions, maps, logistical information, plus information for the business portion of convention.
