Create Harmony: Earth Day Celebration

When we join together, we create harmony. Join us for a day of community, celebration, and action. Together we’ll envision and experience the world we are working for, one that is just, equitable, and sustainable, where everyone’s needs are fully and fairly met, and create a music video to share our message far and wide -- you don’t want to miss it! Click here to RSVP and invite friends to join us!

Join us for all or part of the day:

Clean Up: Help Make Loring Greenway Beautiful, 10:15 am
Meet us in the parking lot at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, 519 Oak Grove St., across from Loring Park. We’ll pick up some trash, and enjoy the morning outside while cleaning up the greenway.

Lunch Buffet, Noon
Gandhi Mahal Restaurant- Minneapolis MN will serve us a delicious Bangladeshi/Indian buffet lunch following the cleanup. There will be time to mingle and learn from our partners for social and environmental justice, make some art, and hang out before the 2:00 pm main event. Please rsvp to earthdayinfo@mnipl.org so we have enough food!

Create Harmony, 2:00 pm
We know the world we want, so let’s spread our message loud and clear! Through music, movement, and spoken word we’ll create a music video to inspire others to take action. Join us for an afternoon including spoken word performances by youth leaders, music from John Bell, all the way from Scotland will lead us in a “Big Sing” for social and environmental justice. Movement facilitator Nicola Kapala will get us moving and integrating our hearts and bodies. We’ll conclude our celebration with a procession on the lawn of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral to bring our music, movement and art into the world!

Climate Justice Happy Hour 4:30 pm
The celebration isn’t over, join us at a nearby brewery (exact location TBD). Get connected with others who care about climate justice. Explore what role you can play in being part of the solution. (TBD) is family & dog-friendly; all are welcome!
