December 2011 Council minutes
- Council spent the morning in a joint session of the Meeting of Elected Bodies —including Commission on Ministry, Standing Committee and Trustees
- John Estrem, Executive Director, Episcopal Community Services (ECS), was the keynoter, and spoke about those who receive the services of ECS — the why behind the mission of the organization); in addition, John offered a recently released video of ECS’ services and spent time with attendees in an informative Q&A
- Council convened in the afternoon to approve the agenda, September 10 minutes, and then broke into committees (Mission, Ministry and Management)
- Council re-convened for Committee reports
- Council moved on several items proposed by its Committee on Management, including Clergy Housing Allowance, ECMN Check Signatory, approval of Bishop Prior’s committee member appointees (Personnel, Audit, Council Finance and Standing)
September 2011 Council minutes
- Council spent the morning in a joint session of the Meeting of Elected Bodies —including Commission on Ministry, Standing Committee and Trustees — where, following prayer, the focus of large- and small-group discussion focused on Mission (reconfiguring the Regional structure), Ministry (the School for Formation and discernment process) and Management (the proposed 2012 budget)
- Council convened in the afternoon to approve the agenda and March and June minutes and then broke into the three committees (Mission, Ministry and Management)
- Council re-convened for Committee reports
- Council moved on several items proposed by its Committee on Management (including Mineral Rights, proposed 2012 Budget, and proposed Lay Compensation Guidelines).
June 2011 Council minutes
- Council spent the morning session in a joint meeting with the Trustees, Standing Committee, and Commission on Ministry
- Council held a short joint discussion with the Trustees concerning matters pertinent to both Council and Trustees
- Council spent time in small group discussion by committee: Mission, Ministry, and Management; and heard reports from each small group
- Council delayed vote on a mineral rights resolution until a summary breakdown can be sent
For the first part of the Council business meeting, the Ministry, Mission, and Management Committees gathered for group discussion. Council then convened as a whole. As the March minutes had not yet been received, they will be approved at the September meeting.
March 2011 Council Minutes
- Council spent the morning session in a joint meeting with the Trustees, Standing Committee, and Commission on Ministry
- Council unanimously affirmed the appointment of Pat Dibble as First Vice President of Council
- Council continued an ongoing discussion of the goals of Diocesan Council
- Council chose areas of interest within Mission, Ministry, or Management, broke into small groups, and then summarized their discussions to Council
- Council heard reports from Bishop Prior and the Finance, Audit, and Personnel Committees
The morning was spent in a joint meeting with the Trustees, Standing Committee, and Commission on Ministry. Council’s individual business meeting convened following lunch.
