Summary of January 2, 2010, meeting
Diocesan Council:
- Approved Resolution 2010-01, authorizing new check signers for 2010
- Discussed Resolution 2010-02 on Audit Committee guidelines, and referred it back to the Audit Committee
- Heard reports from the Personnel Committee and the Trustees
- Spent the afternoon session in conversation with Bishop-Elect Brian Prior

Summary of April 22, 2010 meeting
Diocesan Council:
- Spent the morning session recapping work done at the March 2010 retreat and visioning for the future
- Discussed the letter of agreement between Bishop Prior and the Diocese of Minnesota and approved the revised letter
- Approved the revised Audit Committee guidelines
- Approved Bishop Prior’s nomination of Kevin Egan and Emmanuel Wilson to the Diocesan Finance Committee
- Approved the 2010 Management Agreement between the Diocese of Minnesota and the Trustees
- Heard reports from Bishop Prior and from the Trustees
- Per Canon 101.1, Bishop and Diocesan Council approved the idea of a mission congregation in Grand Marais which endorses the fact that a group of people have been forming an Episcopal presence there already.

Summary of May 20, 2010 meeting
- Spent the morning session with a presentation and discussion on Innovating a Mission-Shaped Church, facilitated by the Rev. Dwight Zscheile
- Heard reports from Bishop Prior, the Finance Committee, and the Trustees
- Heard an update from the Millennium Development Goals team, presented by the Rev. Devon Anderson, including news of adaptations of the Minnesota pilot MDG project by other dioceses and regions
- Heard a report on the past and current work of the Department of Communications, presented by Communications Director Wendy Johnson, and discussed possibilities for the future
July
Summary of July 8, 2010 meeting
- Spent the morning session in conversations about redesigning the Episcopal Church in Minnesota into three primary areas: Ministry, Mission, and Management
- Passed a proposed structure for staffing
- Passed a motion adopting the proposed structure for Council as a working template
- Heard updates on multicultural ministries from representatives of Holy Apostles, St. Paul (largely Hmong) and La Misión el Santo Niño Jesús (Hispanic)
- Passed a motion to use the 2010 Millennium Development Goals funds for a diocesan-wide Nets for Life project as proposed by the MDG Team, facilitated by Devon Anderson
- Appointed Mike Anders to the Audit Committee by acclamation
- Approved the appointment of Carrie Willard to fill a vacancy on the Personnel Committee
- Heard a report from the Finance Committee
- Approved covering bishop search and transition overages with funds from budget excess from 2008 and 2009
- Approved amending the 2010 budget to reflect changes since last year’s Convention
- Approved moving responsibilities of negotiating ACG relief for congregations from the First Stop Committee to the Diocesan Finance Committee, understanding the need for ongoing communication with other entities with congregational finance responsibilities, namely the Trustees
- Discussed a first draft budget for 2011

Summary of September 23, 2010 meeting
- Spent the morning session in conversations about Council goal setting (facilitated by Bill Van Oss) and redesigning Council structure
- Unanimously endorsed the Trustee financing motion to be proposed to Diocesan Convention
- Voted unanimously to include the budget funding proposal in the 2011 budget
- Unanimously endorsed the proposed budget for 2011 for the Episcopal Church in Minnesota
December
Summary of December 10, 2010 meeting
- Spent the morning session in conversations with Bishop Prior about the vision for engaging God’s mission in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota
- Discussed Council goals for 2011
- Heard reports from Bishop Prior and the Audit, Finance and Personnel Committees
- Shared impressions of the October Diocesan Convention
- Unanimously approved Martha Allen to a vacant lay seat on Standing Committee
- Unanimously approved Resolution 2010-04 for 2011 housing allowances
2011 Council Dates – all four elected bodies, Council, Trustees, Standing Committee and Commission on Ministry will meet quarterly as a joint body on March 12, June 4, September 10 and December 10. They will meet in a plenary session in the mornings and then break into their separate meetings in the afternoons.
