Shame and Healing

February 5, 2017 Messiah Episcopal Church, St. Paul

Shame has the potential to disrupt our relationship to ourselves, to our families, to our friendships, to our church community, and to God. In these two sessions we will try to answer many questions around shame, including: What is shame? What happens when we face illness and suffering that ignites shame? What can we learn from neuroscience about shame? What can we learn from Jesus’ relationship to shame? What role does shame play in God’s story and how does it impact our own stories? How does shame rob us of joy, creativity and using our gifts effectively? How do we heal from shame?

Join us at Messiah Episcopal Church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  The presenter is Steve Erickson, Licensed Psychologist & Marital Therapist.
