Episcopal Youth Event 2017

July 10, 2017 University of Oklahoma, Edmund

EYE is a real experience of our Episcopal Church. It is the second largest event in the Episcopal Church and the single largest youth event in the Episcopal Church, typically attended by some 1200 young people, adult sponsors, bishops, staff, and resource people. EYE is a once in a lifetime opportunity, occurring once every three years.

EYE will be held July 10-14, 2017 at the University of Oklahoma, Edmund. We will travel by charter bus, leaving late on Sunday, July 9 and returning late on Friday, July 14.

The Episcopal Church in MN can send up to 24 youth and 4-6 adults. We will transport by bus, hopefully sharing costs with other states along the route. The cost for EYE 2017 is $595 per person, with $350 going directly to EYE for lodging, meals, and program. Scholarships are available in partnership with the student's local parish.

Path to Peace is this year's theme. It was developed by the EYE17 youth and mission planning team who discerned a call to focus on peacemaking and the ways each member of the Jesus Movement can pursue a path to peace. “Path to Peace represents both the inward and outward actions we are called to engage as members of the Jesus Movement,” explains Bronwyn Clark Skov, Presiding Bishop’s Staff Officer for Youth Ministry. “Embracing this theme, the 2017 Episcopal Youth Event will focus on helping participants identify how they can engage peacemaking and reconciliation in their communities.”
