You're invited to the East Metro Mission Area Gathering. For our gathering this year on April 6, 2019 starting at 9am, hosted by St. John's the Evangelist, Saint Paul.

Our mission area is a group of faith communities connected by geography. Created to better share, problem solve, and learn from each other.

There is great change on the horizon for ECMN and for the good of all our faith communities it is important that we have a time and place to listen and speak to our hopes and desires for the future.

We will be holding the East Metro Mission Area gathering on April 6th starting at 9:00 am. We will first hear from Bishop Prior as he walks us through his tenure discussing where we were when he first arrived and where we are now and his hopes for our future. Then, we will have a time to for thoughtful questions of him to help us better understand how ECMN’s vision has been realized outside of our own experiences. Lastly, we will have a couple of hours to listen to members of the Bishop Search Committee discuss how the process is unfolding.

We have the opportunity to voice our opinions as members of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota. This is the time where our Search Committee needs us to speak to them with clarity, brevity and consideration. We should be prepared to discuss the challenges and culture we face now but also our vision for the Church as we move forward.

Our Search Committee will be looking for Bishop candidates with a vision. That vision needs to align with ours. Our Search Committee is asking for our help in creating a profile that will clearly convey who ECMN is and where we see ourselves heading. It is important for as many East Metro Mission area faith communities to be represented on April 6th to communicate ECMN’s future.

Hope to see you there,
