The Church of the Holy Communion in St. Peter has a group of women known as Knit or Not. They knit mini prayer shawls and occasionally full-sized prayer shawls. Some of the women who attend do not knit, which it’s why it’s called Knit or Not. Women are
welcome to come whether or not they knit.

Mini Prayer shawls are little knitted squares with a card attached explaining that they are given to people who are going through something difficult in their lives. The little square is to be kept in the recipient’s pocket so that it can be easily felt when the person
is feeling low. It reminds them that people care and are praying for them. The mini prayer shawls are often very important to the people who receive them. One member of the congregation who has one was present when one was given to someone else. The
member who had one remarked, “I have one in my pocket. It’s always with me!”

Sometimes the little things we do for people have the biggest impact!
