Free Faith+Lead On-Demand Courses

I wonder if you’ve taken time to explore the free On Demand courses available to every Minnesota Episcopalian in the ECMN group on Faith+Lead? I don’t know about you, but before I went to seminary I was hungry to learn more about the Bible and my Christian faith. I took every possible class, study group, and retreat the churches I attended offered. And when I finally got to divinity school I wondered, “why didn’t they teach me all these amazing things?”

By accessing the free ECMN group on Faith+Lead you -- and ideally a group -- can learn more about everything from the Gospel of Matthew (featured in our Sunday worship readings beginning in Advent 2025), to the biblical roots of justice, to ancient spiritual practices. There is a course on Dietrich Bonhoeffer filmed in Berlin, and one called “Popgods” which enables participants to think theologically about popular culture. Other courses focus on money and logistics for starting a new ministry, sustainable models of ministry, the environment, church history, the Gospel in an age of division, and rural ministry. There’s even a survey of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.

The classes are interactive and participatory. They include short videos, reflection questions, and discussion questions. While individuals can go through these classes on their own, they are best used with groups. They can be used with church members, or with people interested in learning more about Jesus, spiritual practices, or living a life of purpose and meaning. The Rooted course can be used with people new to the Episcopal Church, confirmands, or long time Episcopalians wanting to learn more about the Episcopal path to the Christian life.

In every church I’ve served there are people who want to learn more about Jesus and their faith, but don’t have the time or interest in going to seminary. The ECMN group on Faith+Lead is a way to enhance and support spiritual growth and discipleship in our diocese.

To sign up for your free ECMN Faith+Lead account go to https://lab.faithlead.org/ecmnonfla/. After you sign up, go to faithlead.org each time you want to access the ECMN group. Once on Faith+lead, click on the image of three heads and shoulders on the lefthand side of the page, and you will be taken to a page with lots of groups. Click on the ECMN Group and you are on our site! We have featured some of our favorite classes there, but if you want to see more, click on the graduation cap.
