ECMN Convention 2021

ECMN Convention 2021

November 5-6, 2021 | Online

For the second consecutive year, Convention was held online in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being apart, we gathered to hear the Bishop's Address, conduct the business of the diocese, and to worship and learn together.

In watching the videos from Convention, you will notice the beautiful triptych mural in the background. We offer deep gratitude to The Rev. Matt Cobb and artists Dimitri Kadiev and Emily Claire Cobb. The mural is entitled Mino Bimaadiziwin—the Good Walk—from the original language of the land we call Bemidji, Ojibwe. It is akin to the Hebrew l'chaim—the Good Life. The artists painted it in an attempt to provide a land acknowledgment without using words, involving more divine recurrent creativity to come along and inspire our children and elders to imagine all of Creator's energies as a reflection of that Light of Christ Event suffusing animate and inanimate beings. Without beauty inside, how may we ever hold our environment and dear neighbors as sparks of divinity incarnate, thereby loving our neighbor as ourself and trusting the integrity of 'this place', Creation. We are the bodies we have been waiting on to for generations in the church and Beloved Community. The Good Walk means being communion, because ultimately we are all related and wholeness prevails.
