Collar to Collar: Monthly Clergy Gathering

Clergy are invited to continue gathering once a month to pray together and support one another. We'll gather on Zoom at 12pm on the fourth Thursday of each month.

March 23:  Centering Discipleship in Your Congregation
Canon Blair Pogue shares her learnings from 21 years of trying to help lay leaders become everyday disciples. What are some of the ways we can help the people entrusted to our care show up as Jesus’ followers in all the different spaces in their lives? Participants whose churches are using the Centered discipleship curriculum will be asked how things are going, and what they are learning.

April 27: Faithful Innovation Stories & Learnings
So far, thirteen ECMN congregations have participated in the Faithful Innovation process. The southern process wraps up April 1. Representatives from participating churches will share some of the experiments they’ve tried, and what they’ve learned.

May 25: Fresh Expressions 
Bishop Craig Loya and Canon Blair Pogue talk about Fresh Expressions of Christian community. What are they? How do we understand them theologically? What is the relationship between inherited forms of church and Fresh Expressions? Blair will share more about the Fresh Expressions “loving first” roadmap, as well as some of the best stories from the U.S. and the U.K.

June 22: Missional and Monastic: Spring Forest
Former Dean of Duke Divinity School and Abbess of Spring Forest, the Rev. Dr. Elaine Heath will talk about the Fresh Expressions monastic community she and her husband started in partnership with the Holy Spirit and others called to this ministry, and how they are reclaiming and living the Christian faith in exciting, countercultural ways.
