Parochial Report and Leadership Addendum Due

2024 Parochial Report

While the Parochial Report can be a challenge to complete, it is Canonically required by the Episcopal Church, and an important data set that's gathered each year, providing the whole church with valuable information and trends. Thank you for taking the time to complete it.

This year, there are several changes to the Parochial Report, all aimed at simplifying the reporting process for faith communities. Please review the links below to find guidance for how to complete this revised Report, and feel free to reach out to the Diocese if you need support.

ECMN Addendum

In addition to completing the Parochial Report each year, we ask every faith community to provide additional information, including the updated leadership roster following your annual meeting and the election of new vestry members.

This year, we ask that every faith community take the time to complete a new Financial section of this Addendum.

Historically, ECMN has used Operating Income or Line A of the Parochial Report to calculate each faith community's annual Mission Ministry Support Contribution (assessment). However, the revised Parochial Report now defines Line A as Total Revenue - that includes all revenue such as funds designated for capital improvements, charitable giving, diocesan support, etc - unlike in previous years.      

To ensure the 2026 Mission Ministry Support Contribution is calculated accurately and not over-assessed, we require all faith communities to complete the 2024 Parochial Report as well as the ECMN Addendum. The addendum allows for adjustments to Total Revenue by accounting for Allowable Revenue Deductions specifically for assessment purposes.

Please fill in this leadership addendum after your annual meeting and before March 1.

Filing Out Your Parochial Report

The 2024 Parochial Report filing period began on Monday, January 6, 2025. If you haven’t already done so, please take the time to review the updated form, as there are changes from previous years. You can access it by logging into the filing site https://reports.dfms.org/login or viewing the blank PDF available on the General Convention website.

The Episcopal Parish Network hosted a very helpful webinar with instructions and explanations that will aid in completing this year's Parochial Report. You can find that by clicking here.

Please note that the deadline to file your report is March 1, 2025. After this date, the filing site will close to all users except diocesan administrators. If your report is late, you will need to coordinate with us at the diocesan office to have it entered online.
