Jered Weber-Johnson
The Very Rev. Jered Weber-Johnson
Jered Weber-Johnson has been a part of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota since 2011 when he accepted the call to be rector of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in St. Paul. Prior to coming to St. Paul, Jered served on the staff of St. Alban’s Parish in Washington D.C. and at Trinity Wall Street in New York City. He holds a Master of Divinity from the General Theological Seminary in New York and a Bachelor's degree from Greenville University in Illinois. Jered and his wife Erin were sent by the Diocese of Olympia in western Washington, Jered’s sponsoring diocese, to serve as missionaries with the Episcopal Church’s Young Adult Service Corp in the Diocese of Taiwan in 2006.
Jered was born in Bemidji, Minnesota and moved when he was still in kindergarten to Prince of Wales Island in southeast Alaska where he would grow up and graduate from high school. Jered and Erin have two very energetic and quickly growing boys Jude (b. 2009) and Simon (b. 2012), and a very sweet and fluffy mutt they call Chester. When they’re not in St. Paul, the Weber-Johnson family are most likely to be found in their happy place on the North Shore, just outside of Grand Marais where they have a cabin on Devil Track Lake.
Jered is the dean of the East Metro Region of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota. As dean, Jered’s role is first and foremost to extend the ministry of the bishop in tangible ways, communicating the needs, challenges, and specific ministries happening there to the bishop. He will convene regular clericus meetings, work with elected council representatives to plan and lead Mission Area Gatherings, and provide pastoral support to faith communities around conflict, leadership development, congregational vitality, and transition as requested. Please email Jered to speak with him directly about one of these areas.
